We tried that before and no one ever joined it layed dormant for months we had about 100+ maps on it from bunny hoppers, Surf to aim maps. And everything was working fine. They just aren't popular enough for us to consider that yet. Perhaps once we get our current one fully populated consistently then maybe we'll look into it.
Also I have been looking into some central servers but Like I said they aren't cheap compared to what we already have. Buying a single dedicated Server is More expensive than it is to Host an entire dedicated Box like ours.
There are a few other solutions I have been looking into but have to find the right one which is a VPS or VDS (virtual Dedicated Server/ Virtual Private Server) Kinda like hosting a seperate operating system on your main computer but for servers. They have limited amounts of ram and are limited to usually one core of a multi-core CPU Server
ie. 1 of 8 cores in a Quad core Xeon CPU Server and anywhere from 256mb to 1024mb out of 16gb.
