Compulsive PSA
Dear Community Members,
I'd like to take this time to gather your attention and make a formal, and very public - Apology.
I'd like to remind all of our members and community regulars that we try to provide the best gaming atmosphere possible.
We have a certain set of guidelines we expect all of our members to follow and abide by.
These guidelines are not strict, nor are they un-reasonable.
However, they are put in place so that everyone has a pleasant
and pleasurable experience while involved with Compulsive-Gaming, directly or indirectly.
As a figurehead for this community,
I should most definitely be held accountable for my actions,
and I should lead by example.
It's come to my attention that I and possibly a few others have been behaving
in a manner that is not totally acceptable or mature.
Specifically I'd like to refer to the rampant racism that I,
and others have been taking part in VIA ventrilo.
I'd like to remind myself and everyone else who has been behaving in this manner that while you
personally may not have any issues with profanity and racism, it's not something we
believe in, or tolerate. I take full responsibility for this catastrophe because it was infact I who started it.
Most of my racial slurs are used in a joking manner because I am not actually a racist in real life,
nor do I believe any gender, creed, race or religion is better than the next,
it still does not justify using demeaning or hurtful terms / language. No matter the context or use.
It got out of control because before our Black Ops server started there were only 2-3 people in vent,
we all knew each others boundaries and we were in private quarters so what we said, stayed where we said it.
We had no one to worry about or anything of the sort.
Now that we've opened our doors again,
and the public, friends and family have full range of our services,
it's time to do a littler over-hauling and refresh our brains in regards to the
proper code of conduct that had once made us one of the best gaming communities out there.
Again, I am sorry to those who I have upset or offended.
You have my deepest apologies and I'd like to truly extend my efforts in helping you,
and anyone else - realize that we do not accept or promote that kind of behavior,
nor do we plan to let it go un-punished.
Compulsive Gaming is a friendly and family orientated community.
We welcome everyone, and with that in mind,
we try make it accessible and acceptable for all to be a part of this community
without having to worry about this kind of situation or problem.
In short, the meaning of this is to apologize on my behalf,
and that of the others who are also guilty of conducting themselves in an unprofessional manner.
We here at Compulsive strive to bring you friendliest and best gaming experience possible. So once again, I am truly sorry.

To refresh everyones mind, the appropiate code of conduct when it comes to communicating is as follows -
Swearing is tolerated...TO an extent. We're all adults here, and the majority of the games we play are rated M for mature(17+) so using profanity isn't a huge deal if it's within moderation. Dropping the F bomb and other vulgarities too frequently is not acceptable.
Racism is NOT tolerated, and should be kept to a bare minimum at most.
Text/Mic chatting is obviously a tool of the game, do not abuse it. Don't talk about random things like what you had for breakfast in public chat when others are trying to focus on the game. Same goes for mic chatting, don't spam about how your mom shrunk your clothes in the drier, chances are...no one cares.
Theres a time and place for everything, use your better judgement to figure out when those times are.

It takes a lot of balls to come out and say that Phayze. Thank you.
I have a few things I want to say as well, most of which I told Deano last night. I really believe that you guys have a good thing going here. A lot of good and active players who are generally respectful and like to have a good time. Some of you guys are close and even know each other personally to an extent that you can joke around and say things that you know won't offend or be taken the wrong way. I see it as being innocent, but also see its potential to hurt or offend others who might not know you guys that well. I don't have any issue with the swearing overall, in fact I think its pretty lame when I go into a server and they ban for using the "F" word even though, like you said, it is a game rated "M" for Mature. In fact a big part of why I like playing with you guys on your servers is because there isn't the idiotic rules that many other servers have. "No Camping" "No Tubing" "No Running" "No Second chance"... why don't we all just sit around a campfire and tell stories then? I mean, is this a game to be played or not? My point is, I agree with you to a large extent and seeing you post this really says a lot about you.

Well I'm glad people are taking the time to read it. I've never been the type of person to hide my mistakes or blame others for my actions. As I said in my original post, the truth is, most of the wrongful behavoir was my fault so I take full responsibility for it. The last thing I want to do is hurt the community no matter how little it may same. Like I said, our goal is to provide the best place to game.
I just got a little complacent with the lack of activity in the community so I started bending rules and it's like I said to Deano in private...what you do during practice is what you'll do during the game... Which turned out to be true, because once people started joining vent and the website, I didn't tailor my actions back to how they are supposed to be. It doesn't matter if I offend 1 person or 50, it's still a negative influence on the community, and ONE is too many in my books.
I sincerely hope that within time those who I have upset or offended will give the community another shot. I also hope they realize I am not a bad person even though sometimes I may come off as an Abrasive person.
Again, my sincerest Apologies everyone.
