    Thumbs up Scrim vs. Strats.

A practice session should be held at least once a week for #CoMpulsive members who wish to scrim together and not look like total jackasses (embarrassing themselves and other players); instead of treating every scrim like a match in random ambitiousness we should involve strategy and formation. [the last scrim was horrible and it made me wanna choke myself in a puddle of my own pee]

Even the poorest of players play like the pros using strats.

    Just sayin'

First off we need to find out what kind of maps we like when we scrim?

    I'll list the maps

    de_cplfire
    de_contra
    de_nuke
    de_dust2
    de_train
    de_cplmill
    de_cplstrike
    de_season
    de_inferno

for your perspective on how good you are on those maps, list them from good to bad.

    heres my view on it;

    1.de_dust2 ( i know wide range of strats )
    2.de_contra ( got a couple strats )
3.de_nuke ( another fav scrim map, w/ alot of strats )
4.de_train ( train is one of my favorite maps for scrimming so ya' )
    5.de_cplmill ( of course )
    6.de_inferno ( got some strats )
    7.de_season ( barely )
    8.de_cplstrike ( nahh )
9.de_cplfire ( don't even know any for this map )

    How about this.

Since we really are just a community, but some of us want to actually scrim, someone should make a Team and he can take care of everything. What im trying to say is if Gig wants to get more scrims going he could ask around here who really wants to start getting some practices in and maybe take the scriming to a next level.

But if i where you guys i would focus on some important things before you get going.

    1. I can never say this more. Everyone on a scrim team has to work as a team. you CAN'T have someone who is selfish, he will just screw your whole team over.

    2. Learn the most played maps first. Meaning don't spend to much time on say russka, or any other stupid new CAL/Cevo map.

    3. Practice, Practice, Practice........... you need to get your strats down!!!! Like you may have seen last night. Nuke play a BIG role where you spawn. so you only got a matter of sec to decide what you going to to.

    4. And don't flame, blame someone. Everyone makes a mistake, or misses a shot. If you make fun or blame him it brings down the motivation in the person.

But if you guys need any help in strats or what ever you can ask and ill try to help out.

FYI i never played cal because think its a waste of time. If you want to play something great play ESEA or CEVO.

    Scim Maps to avoid
    de_russka
    de_scorch_rc1
    de_tuscan
    de_aztec

    5. Try to have fun.
    6. Nominate two people to strat call, One for evertime and one to back up when first one is not around.
    7. Watch Professional Demos (gotfrag.com) in spare time if your really serious about it.
    8. Learn from your mistakes and and take criticism as a boost to help you out.
    9. Use every bit of sound to your advantage, It's your new best friend.
    10. Call your deaths (last known position of the enemy)

If your serious about scrimming lets start a scrim forum and have those that are interested in playing scrims to post their name in the forum so we know who we have and Also we can see who is deternmined enough to run the teams. So far two people stand out in my mind and that is Dubskies and Gig. Dubskies was Kind enough to setup a secondary Private server for Compulsive To use Not sure which one is better the 1000fps one or Dubs'. And we also had Gig help donate toward the community to help us with last months server Bill. Maybe you guys can Work together to get this thing 100% running. Any other questions let us know. I will be giving Rcon pass to the two co-leaders of this squad.

The Squad is of course not an official Cal/Cevo Team. It is merely for fun And requires my permition to be enrolled in any leagues.

Yeah, gig is so right. We need organization first so we can atleast get somewhere. I was thinking, maybe we could create a group on steam just for the practice team. I think we could get about 15 members so we can just check the group to see whos online and talk to them about getting a practice session going. In my opinion I think the dippin dots clan are perfect for a practice team, but I don't have them all on my friendslist, therfore a group would be perfect for a start.
